Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton will start from the back of the grid at the São Paulo Grand Prix following power unit-related penalties. Verstappen received a 30-place grid penalty for exceeding the permitted component allocation, including a fifth internal combustion engine, turbocharger and exhaust system. Hamilton was handed a 10-place penalty for introducing a fifth engine, but Ferrari's decision to replace additional power unit components following a mechanical issue in FP3 pushed him further down the order. As a result, Hamilton will start 20th, with Verstappen in 21st at Interlagos.
