Konami has officially unveiled the first major details of eFootball 6.0 during the eFootball World Festival 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand. The upcoming update is scheduled to launch in mid-August and introduces new gameplay systems, customization options, and additional content for Dream Team... but what about the graphics?
👎Not what we expected
Despite introducing several welcome gameplay features, the
presentation is likely to fuel a familiar criticism from the community.
Konami once again dedicated much of the showcase to Dream Team content,
new player cards, and monetized campaigns, while offering virtually no
information about graphical upgrades or a broader visual overhaul. For
many players, improving the game's presentation remains just as
important as expanding its card collection.
This gameplay clip, shown during Konami's eFootball 6.0 presentation, suggests that the game's visual presentation has seen little noticeable improvement. Player models, lighting, animations, and the overall match presentation appear largely unchanged from previous versions, with no obvious graphical overhaul showcased.

Presented during the eFootball CONNECT broadcast,
version 6.0 focuses on expanding the ways players compete by adding
customizable tournaments, a brand-new Team Playstyle, upgraded Showtime
cards, and new in-game campaigns.
⚽New Features Announced
- Custom Tournaments arrive in eFootball
One of the headline additions is Custom Tournament, a new mode that lets players create their own competitions with a variety of customizable rules. Players will be able to define the tournament format, set the number of substitutions, and apply participation restrictions. These can include limiting squads to players from specific nationalities or requiring cards that meet certain condition-related criteria, giving communities and groups of friends more flexibility when organizing private competitions.
- New Overload Team Playstyle
Version 6.0 also introduces a new Team Playstyle called Overload. This tactical option changes how the entire team moves on the pitch by shifting players toward the side of the field where the ball is located. The goal is to create numerical superiority around the play, making it easier to recover possession and launch quick attacks. According to the announcement, Overload is the first completely new Team Playstyle added to the game in quite some time.
- Showtime cards receive three special abilities
Konami also confirmed changes to Showtime player items. Starting with eFootball 6.0, certain Showtime cards will be able to feature up to three Showtime abilities on a single player item, making them some of the most powerful cards available in Dream Team.
- New campaigns and player packs
The update will be accompanied by new player packs and several limited-time campaigns. Among them is the eFootball Festival, which will reward players for completing challenges. The main reward will allow users to obtain one of several Epic players through a Selection Contract. During the presentation, Konami also revealed the two previously hidden Epic Legends included in the Legends Assemble Special selection: Wayne Rooney and Sergio Agüero, with the latter making his first-ever appearance in eFootball.

Konami has not announced a specific release date, but confirmed that eFootball 6.0 is planned for mid-August, alongside the start of a new season of content for the game. The update expands both competitive and social features, adding more customization options for matches while continuing to introduce new content for Dream Team.
