For the fifth consecutive time, EA Sports has fired up its simulation to predict the winner of the World Cup. And once again, the company claims to know who will
lift the trophy. The suspense is part of the fun, but the real headline
is EA’s startling track record: they’ve correctly forecasted every
tournament champion since 2010. So, who came out on top in this year’s
simulation?
Spain This Time
According to EA’s latest simulation (run on EA FC 26), Spain emerged as the winner.
A Perfect Record That Feels Almost Unfair
Let’s rewind. In 2010, EA simulated the World Cup using FIFA 10 and predicted Spain would win. They did. In 2014, the sim called Germany. Correct again. 2018? France. Nailed it. And in 2022, with EA FC technology already in the pipeline, the simulation pointed to Argentina. You know how that ended. That’s four consecutive correct predictions across two different game engines. No asterisks, no “we almost got it.” Just a clean, unbroken streak that makes every oddsmaker look like they’re guessing.
Should You Bet on It? Probably.
So, if it works like the scripting in Ultimate Team, it's probably a safe bet. The same way they program the ball to bounce off the post five times, then your keeper, then your defenders until they finally score on you — it's very likely these guys have already fixed it directly with Infantino. Jokes aside, it's still amazing how many times they've gotten it right. But we think this time they'll be close — just not spot on. The next winner is close to Spain.
