Borussia Dortmund opened their Champions League campaign with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Villarreal at Signal Iduna Park. After Renato Veiga’s own goal gave Dortmund the lead, Santiago Mouriño equalised for the visitors. Serhou Guirassy then took centre stage, scoring twice in the final 10 minutes to secure all three points for the German side. A late own goal from Guirassy made for a nervy finish, but Dortmund held on for a winning start to their European campaign.
