CD Projekt Red has released the overview trailer for Cyberpunk 2077's Edgerunners 2 Update (2.5), a free update adding new missions, combat options, customization features and improvements to Night City. Inspired in part by the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime, the update arrives on October 22, 2026, for PC, Mac, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with the Nintendo Switch 2 version following in the days after.
One of the main additions is Clampdown, a new side quest set before the events of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2. Completing it unlocks a five-piece gear set based on King, a character from the anime. The update also introduces a new radio station featuring music from the series.
New Missions and Dual-Wielding
The update adds another side quest, Welcome to Paradise, which takes players on a guided tour of Night City narrated by Richard Night. There are also 12 new Minor Arcana Tarot cards to discover, with a special reward for collecting them all.
Combat receives a new option through the Double Trouble perk, which allows V to wield two Power pistols or revolvers simultaneously. Character customization also expands with new clothing, additional hairstyles and the ability to change the appearance and colors of hand cyberware, including Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Monowire, and the Projectile Launch System.
Cross-Platform Mod Support and Technical Improvements
Another major addition is cross-platform mod support powered by mod.io. Players can browse and install selected community-created mods directly through the game's menu on PC, Mac, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. However, achievements and trophies are disabled on consoles when playing with a modded save.
The update also introduces DLSS 4.5 support, including Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, performance optimizations for ray tracing and PS5 Pro, improved HDR rendering, and a field-of-view slider on consoles. Other quality-of-life changes include save files organized by playthrough and item filters for apartment and vehicle storage.
Cyberpunk 2077's Edgerunners 2 Update is free for owners of the game and does not require purchasing the Phantom Liberty expansion. The update launches October 22 on PC, Mac, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with Nintendo Switch 2 receiving it in the following days.
