October 20, 2026

Sports Interactive has released a new gameplay preview for Football Manager 27, highlighting new features and upgrades ahead of its November 10 launch. The video showcases improvements to customization, training, tactical management, match presentation, and player behavior.

💻New Features and Customization

FM27 introduces several ways to personalize the interface, including custom landing pages, swappable Portal tiles, and more flexible bookmarks. Players can also adjust interface detail levels and customize the display of player attributes. The new Tactical Effectiveness feature helps managers identify how well their squad fits their tactical philosophy, highlighting areas for improvement and providing direct links to scouting and recruitment tools. Training receives a practical addition with the ability to copy and paste an entire week of sessions, making it easier to plan.

⚽Matchday Improvements and Tactical Tweaks

Match presentation has been upgraded with more varied stadium cutscenes, improved lighting, and weather effects. Player movement and behavior have also been refined using motion capture from professional football, including skill moves, defensive jockeying, and attacking runs.

Touchline shouts now affect squad focus differently depending on player personalities. The new Tactical Tweaks feature lets managers quickly apply multiple tactical instructions to the team or individual players, keeping them active for as long as needed.

The match interface is also more customizable, with swappable tiles for information such as heat maps, shot maps, action zones, and expected goals (xG) data.

Sports Interactive says the preview uses a development build close to the launch version, with final adjustments still underway. Football Manager 27 launches on November 10.
