NBA 2K27 Season 2 begins October 16, introducing GOAT Builds inspired by NBA legends, new MyTEAM cards, and gameplay improvements. Headlined by Tyrese Haliburton and Caitlin Clark, the new season also adds rewards across MyCAREER and The City.
GOAT Builds Introduce NBA Legends
The main addition is GOAT Builds, which recreate legendary players while exceeding the standard attribute and physical limits of the MyPLAYER Builder. Players can customize Badges, Cap Breakers, and Takeovers, but signature animations remain locked.
Eight builds will be available immediately, including Penny Hardaway, Klay Thompson, Carmelo Anthony, Kawhi Leonard, Anthony Davis, and Dwight Howard. Magic Johnson, Dirk Nowitzki, and Kobe Bryant will unlock at Levels 26, 33, and 37, respectively. Other legends, including Michael Jordan and LeBron James, will be available through REP progression, while Anthony Edwards and Wilt Chamberlain require Lifetime Challenges.
Patch Update 2.0 and The City
Patch Update 2.0 is already available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with PC and Nintendo Switch 2 versions scheduled to arrive shortly before Season 2. The update adjusts shooting, passing, defense, steals, and dribbling, adds full 25-year careers to MyCAREER Eras, and improves REP and Crew XP earnings.
The City also introduces Sunset Beach, a remastered location from NBA 2K17. Crew Divisions will offer double Crew XP and a 25% REP bonus, while players can unlock new cosmetics, Badge Slots, Tokens, and other rewards by progressing toward Level 40.
New MyTEAM Cards and Season Rewards
MyTEAM's new Premier Exchange reward is Pixel Cut, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. The Season 2 progression track also includes Diamond Jason Kidd at Level 1, Pink Diamond Obi Toppin at Level 10, Galaxy Opal Roy Hibbert at Level 20, Dark Matter Devin Vassell at Level 30, and Pixel Cut Karl-Anthony Towns at Level 40.
Additional content includes new Domination tiers against Historic and All-Time teams, fresh challenges, and limited-time Triple Threat Online and Clutch Time Online modes. The separately sold Pro Pass and Hall of Fame Pass provide 40 additional reward levels, including extra cosmetics and MyTEAM cards.
Season 2 also expands the 2K Beats soundtrack with new selections featuring artists such as Drake, Jay-Z, Kid Cudi, Linkin Park, and BLACKPINK.Â
