FC 27 The Grounds Deep Dive

EA Sports FC 27 introduces The Grounds, an all-new social football hub where the streets meet the stadium. Designed as a persistent online space, it brings together Clubs, competitive and casual matches, football-inspired minigames, and a completely revamped player progression system. The hub will continue to evolve throughout the season with live updates, fresh activities, and new rewards.

🌍 Welcome to The Grounds

At the heart of The Grounds is the Terrace, a central social area connecting three unique districts inspired by football cultures around the world:

Montclair – French urban football.
Zeiza – Inspired by Argentina's iconic Potrero football culture.
Parkside – Based on the UK's working-class football roots.

Players can freely explore these locations to access Clubs, Stadium matches, Kickabouts, and seasonal activities. EA says the world will receive regular updates, keeping the experience fresh with new events and evolving environments.

⚽ Football Legends, Mentors & New Ways to Play

Alex Hunter, the star of EA's The Journey, returns as a mentor, helping players improve through unique training challenges. He'll be joined by football stars Kylian Mbappé, Chloe Kelly, and Paulo Dybala, each offering specialized activities based on their playing style.

Alongside traditional 11v11 Clubs and Rush matches, The Grounds introduces fast-paced casual experiences, including 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 matches, plus several arcade-inspired minigames.

Confirmed Kickabout activities include:

🎯 Bocce Ball – Score points by shooting or passing balls into targets.
🔄 Team Keepaway – A 3v3 possession battle where keeping the ball earns points.
🏃 The Big Race – Race across an obstacle-filled pitch while dribbling.
🥅 Attacking Scenarios – Complete attacking objectives in 2v2 challenges.
🏀 Bucket Ball – Score by sending the ball through elevated hoops.
🎈 Balloon Ball – Protect your balloon while bursting everyone else's.
🚩 Goal Control – Fight for control of multiple goals in a chaotic 1v1 match.

📈 New Progression System: Archetypes, Masteries & Amps

EA is overhauling player progression in FC 27 with more flexibility and long-term customization.

✅ Players can adjust individual attributes without rebuilding their entire character.
✅ The new Masteries system rewards long-term progression with permanent attribute boosts that benefit every build.

A brand-new consumable system called Amps also debuts in FC 27.

⚡ Boost attributes, PlayStyles, and Perks temporarily.
🎒 Equip up to three Amps at once (two Standard and one Signature).
🎁 Earn them through objectives, live events, and the in-game Store.
🚀 Additional consumables help players catch up faster, with some focused on specific Archetypes or positions.
