The clip showcases a new feature in Madden NFL 27: Persona Engine, designed to make the Franchise Mode more immersive and dynamic. Josh Looman, the Principal Game Designer, explains that this engine creates a unique "Persona DNA" for every player in the league. With over 65 different traits—ranging from being "Ambitious" to "Cerebral"—each player has a distinct personality that dictates how they behave during negotiations and throughout the season.
This engine also incorporates "Temporary DNA" that responds to the player's actions, making them feel like real human beings who react to situations like contract demands or trade requests. Ultimately, the goal of the Persona Engine is to ensure that the league feels alive and that every interaction with a player feels authentic and significant.
