The Subnautica 2 Early Access trailer proves that the team at Unknown Worlds hasn't lost its touch. It captures that unique "Subnautica feeling"—the awe of seeing a majestic creature for the first time, followed immediately by the panic of realizing it’s hungry
Unknown Worlds announced today that Subnautica 2 has surpassed 5 million wishlists ahead of its upcoming May 14 Early Access launch. The studio also confirmed that pre-purchase and pre-load on Steam is already available, allowing players to jump in immediately when the game goes live.
Subnautica 2 is an underwater survival adventure game set on an all-new alien world. It is the next chapter in the Subnautica universe, developed by Unknown Worlds. Driven from your home by ongoing conflict, Alterra offers you the chance at a new life. But as the colony ship CICADA shepherds you and your fellow Pioneers to your new home, something goes awry. The ship’s AI insists that your mission should continue. Stranded and faced with near-insurmountable odds, you must do everything in your power to survive. The future of humanity on this world is in your hands.
Developed by Unknown Worlds, Subnautica 2 is the official sequel to the Subnautica series, which helped define the underwater survival genre. Set on a new alien world within the Subnautica universe, the game introduces new ecosystems, enhanced visuals, and, for the first time in the series, optional co-op for up to four players, allowing players to survive and explore together.
