Relic Entertainment has announced Company of Heroes – Definitive Edition,
a full modernization of the 2006 RTS landmark. Launching Fall 2026 on
PC, it bundles the base game and both expansions – Opposing Fronts and
Tales of Valor – with 64-bit support, visual enhancements, and major
quality-of-life upgrades.
All Content, Faithfully Preserved
The Definitive Edition includes everything from the original release and its expansions:
- Three cinematic campaigns
- Four unique armies
- Over 50 multiplayer and skirmish maps
Squad-based gameplay, destructible environments, and the gritty WWII tone remain intact. Preservation is the goal, not reinvention.
Visual and Tech Upgrades
The game moves to a 64-bit platform for modern system support. Visual improvements include better lighting, shadows, water, reflections, and increased draw distance – all while keeping the original art direction.
Quality-of-Life Additions
Key modernizations for new and returning players:
- Enhanced A.I. with a new "Ruthless" difficulty
- Modernized UI, grid key support, and fully customizable hotkeys
- Vehicle reversing and automatic unit reinforcement at HQ
- Widescreen and ultrawide support with an optimized HUD
- Full mod compatibility for 20 years of community content
20th Anniversary Plans
The Definitive Edition headlines a franchise-wide 20th anniversary celebration. Relic also teased new modes and content for Company of Heroes 3, plus community initiatives. Pricing and an exact Fall 2026 date will be revealed later.
