GTA 6 Will Not Be Available Through Xbox Cloud Gaming at Launch

October 07, 2026

PC players will not have a way to play Grand Theft Auto 6 through Xbox Cloud Gaming at launch. Xbox has debunked reports claiming Microsoft had secured exclusive cloud streaming rights for Rockstar's highly anticipated game. This means that players on PC will still have to wait for a native PC version of GTA 6. There is currently no announced release date for that version.

💻 No Xbox Cloud Gaming alternative at launch

Earlier reports suggested that Microsoft had reached an agreement to make GTA 6 available through Xbox Cloud Gaming, potentially giving PC players a way to experience the game without waiting for a native PC port. Xbox has now denied those reports, meaning there is no confirmed agreement that would bring GTA 6 to its cloud gaming service at launch.

❌ GTA 6 still has no announced native PC version

Rockstar has not announced a native PC release for GTA 6. The game is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, while PC players will have to wait for further information from Rockstar. For now, Xbox Cloud Gaming should not be considered an alternative way to play GTA 6 at launch.

☁️ Cloud Gaming on PC

Cloud gaming allows PC players to stream games directly through services such as Xbox Cloud Gaming, without downloading or installing them locally. The game runs on Microsoft's remote servers, while the video and audio are streamed to the PC and player inputs are sent back to the server in real time. Xbox Cloud Gaming currently requires an active Game Pass Ultimate subscription for cloud gaming, along with a compatible controller and a stable internet connection. This allows players to access supported games even on PCs that would otherwise struggle to run them locally.
