Redemption Road has released an extensive gameplay deep dive for Kingmakers, showcasing the ambitious combination of third-person shooting, real-time strategy, base building, and massive medieval battles. The new trailer offers a detailed look at the game's campaign, combat systems, settlements, and co-op features.
In Kingmakers, players travel back to 1403 with modern weapons to help Welsh nobleman Owen Gwind transform a rebellion against England into a conquest. Players aren't simply another soldier on the battlefield, as they can switch between direct third-person combat and a strategy view inspired by games such as Age of Empires, Stronghold, and Manor Lords.
The game can simulate battles involving tens of thousands of soldiers, with individual units making decisions based on morale, loyalty, and the changing conditions of the battlefield. Players can build settlements, manage resources, recruit different types of troops, construct defensive structures, and personally intervene when their forces need help.
The modern arsenal expands throughout the campaign, starting with weapons such as submachine guns, assault rifles, miniguns, and grenade launchers before progressing to turrets, air strikes, armored vehicles, tanks, and helicopters. The world is also fully destructible, with buildings, trees, walls, and other structures capable of being destroyed during battles.
The entire campaign will be playable solo or in drop-in, drop-out four-player co-op, with each player commanding their own army. Redemption Road plans to launch Kingmakers with approximately 30 to 40 hours of content.
