Kernel Hearts has received a new gameplay trailer confirming
its release date, giving players a closer look at the upcoming
multiplayer co-op roguelike action RPG.
Developed around a team of four magical girls, Kernel Hearts follows their attempt to save a world being consumed by ashes. The game will support multiplayer co-op as players fight Angels and take on increasingly dangerous encounters. The story takes place in a world where most of civilization has been buried beneath ashes, with the remnants of humanity living around the Tower of Babel. The tower is responsible for creating the ashes by burning human memories, while also causing people living nearby to gradually lose their own memories. Players take control of the M.A.H.O.U. Unit, a group of magical androids based on backup data from magical girls of the past, as they climb the tower to confront the source of the curse. Each defeat sends the characters back to a previous memory backup, tying the story directly into the game's roguelike structure.
