EA has detailed the launch roadmap for EA SPORTS FC 27, confirming the content and major changes planned for the opening Seasons. The roadmap covers Football Ultimate Team, The Grounds, Career Mode, and several post-launch features, with a stronger focus on tradeable rewards, match progression and more targeted Player Items. EA FC 27 launches worldwide on September 25, while Ultimate Edition players can begin playing from September 18. The Web App will arrive on September 16 at 17:00 UTC, followed by the Companion App refresh on September 17 at 17:00 UTC.

⚽ Football Ultimate Team Gets a Different Progression Approach
One of the biggest areas of change is Football Ultimate Team. EA says a significantly higher proportion of rewards from Objectives, game modes and other FUT activities will be tradeable, giving players more options when deciding how to improve their squads. Match rewards are also being increased. Rivals, Champions and Squad Battles will provide more FUT Coins than in FC 26, while eligible matches will award between 15 and 100 Season Points depending on the mode and result, with a daily limit of 850 Season Points.
Division Rivals will have more differentiated rewards between Divisions, with increased Coin rewards and tradeable Pack rewards at launch. Champions continues to use a 15-match Finals format, but Champions Qualification Points can now be earned through both Rivals and Squad Battles. The Division 6 requirement for qualification has also been removed.
Champions Tokens will return as another way to choose rewards, with the Token Store offering items including Red Team of the Week Player Items, Evolutions and cosmetic rewards.
📈 Fewer Campaigns and More Focused Player Items
EA is reducing the size of Campaign squads and taking a more measured approach to Player Item upgrades. Campaigns will generally feature fewer players, with a tighter range of Attributes and PlayStyle boosts.
Destined for Glory will be the first example of this new structure, featuring 15 players in each weekly Campaign Squad release. EA also confirmed that there will be approximately five fewer Campaign weeks throughout FC 27, with those periods instead used for Series content such as TOTY Warm Up and TOTS Warm Up.
The maximum number of PlayStyles+ a player can have will also be reduced from five to three. Campaign Player Items will launch with all of their position's Roles++ unlocked, providing more flexibility when building squads.
🔥 Season 1 Brings Ones to Watch and Destined for Glory
Season 1 will run from September 17 through October 22 and will connect several campaigns under a single theme. Ones to Watch returns as the main launch campaign, with Player Items available through the Season Pass, SBCs and Objectives.
Ones to Watch Items can receive upgrades from Team of the Week, Star Performer and Player of the Month selections, as well as a one-time upgrade if their club wins three of their next six domestic league matches after September 18.
Destined for Glory will arrive on September 25. The campaign features players selected through community voting, led by EA FC 27 cover star Kylian Mbappé. Alexander Isak, Bryan Mbeumo, Morgan Rogers and Matheus Fernandes are also among the first revealed players.
Destined for Glory Items are live throughout the football season and can receive upgrades based on real-world performances in domestic league matches. The upgrade requirements differ depending on the player's position.
🗳️ Community Voting Returns to Team of the Week
EA is also giving the FC community a direct role in selecting one player for each of the first six Team of the Week squads. Voting begins on September 14, with every player in the FC 27 Ratings Database eligible for selection.
A new voting period begins every Tuesday and closes each Monday at 11:59pm PT. The selected Player Item will receive a Community Player marker in-game.
🏆 New Hall of FUT Tier and Chemistry Changes
FC 27 introduces Hall of FUT, a new Player Item tier celebrating players with a memorable impact on EA SPORTS FC and FUT. Base Hall of FUT Items will be available through the Gallery Token Store, while special versions will begin appearing in Packs later in the year.
ICONs and Heroes are also receiving Chemistry adjustments. ICONs will continue to provide full Chemistry when played in position, but their Nation contribution drops from +2 to +1. Heroes keep their +1 Nation contribution, while their League contribution falls from +2 to +1. Hall of FUT follows the same Chemistry rules as Heroes.
Base ICONs will now start at 88 OVR, with refreshed Attributes and PlayStyles.
🏟️ The Grounds Expands Clubs
The Grounds becomes the new home of Clubs in FC 27 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. League and Playoff matches and Rush return alongside new Club activities and tournaments.
Season 1 introduces European Nights, featuring UEFA Champions League-themed Live Events, while Screaming Grounds will add Halloween-themed activities later in the Season. Players can also earn AXP, Grounds Coins, cosmetic rewards and temporary boosts through Amps.
👔 Career Mode Adds Creator Challenges
Career Mode will launch with new Manager Live Challenges covering objectives such as transfers, early-season results and league positions. EA is also introducing Creator Challenges, allowing players to create and share their own Career Mode scenarios with friends.
ICONs will return to Player Career and Manager Career, with Season 1 featuring Kaká, Antonio Di Natale, Alessandro Del Piero, Raúl and Robin van Persie as unlockable players.
