EA announced that Diego Maradona's items will be suspended from Fifa 22 due to a third-party legal dispute. His cards won’t be available in Packs, SBCs, or Drafts anymore. Check out the details.
Since he passed away, Maradona's rights have become a legal battle between his former lawyer, and his family. In this particular situation, the previous agreement with EA was made by his former manager, Stefano Ceci. After Maradona´s death, it was revealed that Sattvica, S.A., Inc., a company owned by Maradona's former lawyer, Matias Morla, owned the rights to Maradona's brand name. Sattvica has since been litigating the right to use the name Maradona around the globe. The Argentine justice ruled in favor of Morla after he claim Maradona´s rights. EA was forced them to remove Maradona´s items from the game. Of course, items won´t be in packs but they won´t be removed from those players that already have them in FUT 22.
EA informed that his items are suspended. This means they hope to reach an agreement with Morla to have Maradona´s items back in FIFA 23.
