It seems that when you set players details to high you could probably get slowdowns with a slow framerate from titme to time.  This issue seems to be related to players clothes. So  for those with a dual core or better, if you go into the config file, you'll see an option to change clothes settings. Click on read more to check it out.
The config file should be somewhere in your Documents and Settings. On Windows XP, I found my Config.cfg in this directory:
C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\2K Sports\NBA 2K10\Saves
Open the Config.cfg, and scroll to the bottom. You should see:
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_0 = 1
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_1 = -1
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_2 = -1
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_3 = -1
Change CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_1 from "-1" to "5".
( others suggest change the value from -1 Â to 2)Â
Try to see if this help you.
