Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Review

  • A chance to see events from the Resident Evil series from a new angle
  • Competitive play offers brief thrills.

  • Intrinsically flawed cover system
  • Bullet-sponge enemies and scarcity of ammo make for dull action
  • Stupid AI
  • All sorts of sloppy details derail the fun.

4.5
A frighteningly flawed action-heavy spin-off that withers in the shadow of its superior alternatives.

40
The terrible AI, the lackluster locations and the complete lack of atmosphere or memorable characters destroy what could have been a brilliant offshoot. In the end, Operation Raccoon City is little more than a poor man's SOCOM, and a destitute man's Resident Evil.
